Difficulties in accessing

Due to the implementation of the new library information system there will be difficulties in accessing some library services from 8th May to 14th May.

From 2 pm on Friday the 8th there will be no access to the WUT Library Central Catalogue.

On Saturday the 9th access to the WUT Library Central Catalogue will be restored but there will be no possibility of ordering books.

During this period following services will be unavailable:
- ordering books,
- borrowing books in Faculty and Institute Libraries, Branch and Students’ Halls of Residence   Libraries,
- using the library account,
- paying for overdue items,
- signing the clearance slips.

Available services:
- collecting books that will be ordered up to 1 pm on Friday the 8th,

- returning books,
- using the Open Stacks Collections and the reading rooms,

- borrowing books in the Open Stacks (except for Sunday the 10th)
- using the Internet,
- using the electronic resources.

        We apologize for the inconvenience.

Trial Access to the eBook Academic Collection

The Main Library is pleased to announce trial access to the eBook Academic Collection available on EBSCOhost platform


eBook Academic Collection contains a large selection of multidisciplinary eBook titles representing a broad range of academic subject matter, and is a strong complement for any academic collection. The breadth of information available through this package ensures that users will have access to information relevant to their research needs.

There are more than 135,000 eBooks in this package, including titles from leading university presses such as Oxford University Press, MIT Press, State University of New York Press, Cambridge University Press, University of California Press, McGill-Queen's University Press, Harvard University Press and many others. Additional academic publishers include Elsevier Ltd.; Ashgate Publishing Ltd; Taylor & Francis Ltd; Sage Publications, Ltd. and John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

ProQuest SciTech Collection Trial access

The Main Library is pleased to announce trial access to the ProQuest SciTech Collection available on the ProQuest platform.
This database is the ultimate science and technology research solution, combining full text journals with detailed indexing of global literature on natural sciences, engineering and technology.

Areas covered include:

  • materials science,
  • aerospace engineering,
  • civil engineering,
  • biology,
  • aquatic sciences,
  • environmental science,
  • computer science
  • earth sciences in addition to many more.

It fully incorporates ProQuest Natural Science Collection and ProQuest Technology Collection.

Due to the technical works on our library information system, there will be difficulties in accessing some library services.

Impossible:
- borrowing books,
- using the WUT Library Central Catalogue,

EBL Ebook Library

WUT Main Library is pleased to announce access to the new ebook database EBL.
EBL provides access to content across academic and professional subject areas.
EBL (Ebook Library) is a platform for e-books, offering titles in a wide range of subjects featuring content from 400 of publishers.

Accessing conditions:

  • Most of the ebooks in database can be read for 5 minutes. When the time is up, you can request access for this book on a specific time. Renting cost are paid by the WUT Main Library.
  • Each request will be sent to ML Inter Library Loan. Then the librarian will consider the request and send back information on users email.
  • Books which are bought by the WUT Main Library are marked in green icon.

Check your library card validity

Dear students,
We would like to remind you that library cards are valid by specific time. Please check when your library card expires.
Having invalid card cause many difficulties like:

- being unable to borrow book

- no access to the e-resources at home

- no possibility of renewing books

Note also that due date of borrowed books is the same as the date when your card expires.

In order, to renew your library card, come to the library with your student card.

The Main Library was given a trial access to the Engineering Case Studies Online database.
The collection contains 250 hours and 50,000 pages of quality documentaries, accident reports, experiments, visualizations, case studies, lectures and interviews from leading engineering institutions around the world.
Database content comes from the selected publishers all over the world: BBC, National Archives, American Society of Civil Engineers, A&E Television Networks, Wiley.


The trial will be available till December 17, 2014

Limited range of services

From the 5th of October doors of Students Lending Room and Open Stacks will be opened also on Sundays. Range of services will be limited: library will not charge fees for exceeding the borrowing period for library items,  ML Stockroom collection will be not available.

Library after holidays 2014 – opening hours

Due to beginning of academic year we are changing our opening hours. Classes in the winter semester will start on the 29th of September!


Attention! Due to Inauguration Ceremony of the Academic Year in the Main Building of  Warsaw University of Technology Main Library will be closed on the 30th of September at 5.30 pm. We will open our doors 1.10.2014 at 12.30 pm.
