All interested - students and WUT Staff are offered a wide range of services, including professional help in the Reference Center.
Science information includes:
current information activity
information about the Reference Center collection (general and specialised encyclopedias, dictionaries, library science books, scientific bibliographies and reference books, some also in CD editions)
Information activity includes:
offering information materials such as books, abstracts sources, research materials and data bases
advice and help in searching materials in other Polish or foreign libraries
documentation activity of registering the publications by WUT staff - BIBLIO database
giving factographic information
information about standards, including free access to the standards collection in Reference Center reading room
preparing citation analyses based on SCI database for WUT staff and other interested Polish scientists
using Impact Factor database for journal titles analyses
interlibrary cooperation with the Main Library departments and other national or foreign libraries` information departments
Training activity includes:
introductory training for WUT first year students
introductory training for WUT fifth year students (scientific sources)
instructions in using information sources on request
Library training for first year students
The Main Library offers training courses for first year students which are obligatory for most faculties of WUT.
The training courses are organised from the beginning of the academic year until the end of December. Consult the Dean's Office at your faculty for exact dates.
A programme of the course includes instruction on the basic use of the Library in the following topics:
general information about the WUT library system;
opening hours;
The Main Library structure and organisation;
The Main Library Collections and an access to them;
Library Catalogues;
Instruction
how to search materials in the Computer Catalogue;
how to check if the books you want to reserve are available;
how to reserve books;
how to renew books;
how to check which books you have on loan, when they are due and what you can do if there is no waiting list.
These training courses are held in the Catalogue Room, 1st level, room 162 - opposite the Reference Centre.

These trainings are organised on request during the academic year according to the following timetable:
