Library training programs for 1st year students
The offer to take part in one of our library training programs refers mainly, but not only, to students who just started their studies at the Warsaw University of Technology. These training programs are by many faculties considered to be necessary and are therefore obligatory. All students have usually the possibility to take part in these training, which we usually organize between October and December . the first months of the winter term. Individual training may be organized by several faculties throughout the year.
The training will help the 1st year students to become acquainted with the whole range of possibilities our library offers. The program is going to deal with the following topics: Furthermore we will teach the students how to search catalogues for study materials, how to request, renew and to make reservations for books online.
The training will take place in our Training Room Nr. 162 on the first floor, opposite to the Reference Center. Students should bring their "index" in order to collect their credit.

Library training programs for graduated and postgraduated students
These can be organized through the particular faculties or individually through interested students. The training will be structured like normal lectures: Student groups from 6 to 12 people will take part in a 2 hour (90 minutes)-lasting program. Structure and content of each session depends strongly on the students. branch of study and their course specialisation. The course comprises (among other topics): Electronic Information Sources (e.g. E-Books, E-Journals, bibliographic data bases and central catalogues), searching for literature in data bases, SQL-type languages, as well as information on patents and normalisation and others. The length and frequency of the training units is dependent on the needs of the group and will take place either in the training room of the Main Library or at the particular faculty.
